We’ve been digging into our new theme for March this week with ‘Nature Awakens‘ as we learned about plants and flowers making an appearance as the season’s change is fast approaching, and planted some sprouting beans to practice our gardening skills. We were out in nature with footballs ⚽️ and frisbees πŸ₯ and checking on the park to see all the new features coming soon πŸ›.

We had a special visitor on Friday with Spiro the Bearded Dragon coming to visit, venturing out from her nice warm home to say hello 🦎. It was also British Science Week so as we’ve been listening to some super sounds for Footloose Fridays we learnt about what sound is πŸ”Š. As well as seeing how instruments make sound from vibrations we tested out how sound feels through a speaker with a little help from The White Stripes 🎸, found if we make a Playschool Pioneer vibrate they make a strange sound, and tested out making some notes from a glass 🍹, a Tibetan Singing Bowl, a metal pipe heated to 1300Β°C πŸ”₯, and a wood saw πŸͺš.

To round off the week Footloose Friday‘s genre was ‘Classical with help from AndrΓ© Rieu and Lara’s Theme from Doctor Zhivago, Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker Sweet, Tina Guo’s Momentum and Vivaldi’s Storm from The Four Seasons performed by 2 Cellos 🎻.

See everyone next week for more adventures! 🌲😊
