Learning is fun

A World of Adventure

Everything is better when it’s fun so at Evergreen Wood we’re creating a whole world of fun for little ones to enjoy. Characters they can learn about and who will join our teachers in being their guides into education, introducing them to all kinds of learning experiences. They’ll appear on learning materials, instructional signs, Happy @ Home projects like colouring sheets and drawing tutorials, and more.

Meet some of the residents of Evergreen Wood and their friends below.
๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒณ

Samantha Squirrel

Samantha lives amongst the trees in Evergreen Wood ๐ŸŒฒ and loves being outdoors no matter what the weather may bring โ˜€๏ธ๐ŸŒง๏ธ๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ.

Squirrels don’t hibernate like some animals do, but they do get ready for winter by storing up food.

Samantha is a big fan all kinds of nuts ๐Ÿฅœ but especially acorns. She’s also known to ‘borrow’ vegetables from snack time at the Playschool with tomatoes ๐Ÿ…, peas ๐Ÿซ›and lettuce ๐Ÿฅฌ going missing so everybody better eat up quick ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ ๐Ÿ˜„.

Burnie Bunny

Burnie is Evergreen Wood’s resident scientist always looking into the what, why, and how of the world around us ๐ŸŒ.

Most times his experiments and investigations are straight forward enough and sometimes things get a little out of hand, which is where the name Burnie came from ๐Ÿ”ฅ.

Some days he whizzes passed with his rocket pack other days the whole forest shakes as the warren get an extra few unplanned holes in it ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ˜„.

He’ll be stopping by the Playschool for science fun so safety googles on! ๐Ÿงช๐Ÿฅฝ.

Sasha Seal

Sasha is an Evergreen Wood neighbour who calls Strangford Lough home.

She helps with learning about the environment and the world of water we live on. There’s a lot to discover under the waves and Sasha has lots of friends to help our Playschoolers understand how important the oceans are and how we can help with big topics like climate change ๐ŸŒŠ.

Ollie Owl

Ollie is a night owl, no pun intended, and he’s out every clear night at his observatory on the edge of the woods looking to the stars โœจ๐Ÿ”ญ.

He has lots of facts about space, our solar system, exo-planets, stars, nebulas, black holes and more ๐Ÿช.

He also loves a good rocket launch and will be helping a few blast off from the woods when space becomes our topic during the year ๐Ÿš€.

Robbie robot

Robbie Robot is not from around here ๐Ÿ›ธ. He’s been sent from outer space to learn all about us, and while doing that can help us learn about ourselves.

He’s looking at emotions little people have big and small, happy and sad as it can all be a bit confusing.

He might even have to investigate what grown-ups do, all those important jobs that mums, dads, grannies and grandads go to as well

He hides his spaceship in the Evergreen Wood when he visits and is friends with everyone who lives there ๐Ÿค–.

The Chirpy Chicks

The Chirpy Chicks ๐Ÿฅ hang out in the Big Coop on Evergreen Farm on the edge of the wood.

There you’ll find Bobby, Babs, Bella, Burt, Basil, Becky, Baz and Beep and Boop getting up to all sorts of craziness down on the farm.

They’re always sneaking into Playschool for some fun and it’ll be a bit of a game to see if you can spot who’s come to play and learn ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿ˜Š.
